"Our family couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! Billy is great with kids, kept us feeling safe as we watched bears in their natural habitat and made us feel very welcome. We honestly can't wait to return to Hoonah!" Lisa, Puyallup, WA.
We really enjoyed our two fishing trips. The guide knew where to "catch em" and shared a lot of local history. We came back with more than enough fish to last till the next year's trip. Babs Washington State
Captain Billy is knowledgeable and kind. His expertise in marine mammalry is what made my trip so unforgettable. From watching bears walking on the shore to spotting whales just off the bough. one word for Captain Billy, Wow! Lindsey Syracuse, New York
My bucket list trip of a lifetime was amazing!!! Captain Billy made our trip one of a lifetime. Expert fisherman who was very attentive and extremely informative about Alaska. During our fishing trip... we were also able to experience watching whales, seals, and bears on shore. I highly recommend Captain Billy... you well not be disappointed Angela l Dave, Florida
A few years ago a friend of mine and I decided to take a trip of a lifetime to Alaska. While in Hoonah Alaska we met up with Captain Billy Mills. We told Captain Billy that we were interested in doing all the "native" things that Hoonah had to offer. Captain Billy took us Halibut fishing a few times during our week there and each and every time he put us on some really decent sized fish! Each time we went out, he let us take as much time as we wanted to watch the whales as they were RIGHT THERE WHILE WE FISHED! There were bears too just roaming the shores and even some with cubs! He certainly did not disappoint!!! Not only was Captain Billy awesome with being a guide out on the water but he also directed us to the right people and areas on land as to where to see more bears, eagles, wildlife and educated us on the many wonders of Alaska's plant life and foliage. The scenery is priceless to say the least but no doubt Captain Billy, his charter and the knowledge he has to Alaska is what made out trip unforgettable! We plan on returning again in the near Future and want Captain Billy as our guide again! Be ready Captain Billy... WE"ER COMING BACK!!!!
Cherie W. Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Captain Billy is everything you'd want in a Native Alaska guide: knowledgeable, friendly, funny, safety aware (he's been a police officer for years) and respectful of nature. From the moment I met him, I knew he was the real deal. He cares about people and he cares about the environment that has surrounded him his whole life. We fished, laughed, disagreed on politics, and enjoyed the best of small town Alaska. I'm excited to be on his boat again in the future. Tracy, Seattle
